About · The story behind DE ENGINE

DE ENGINE was created with a simple idea: UAV engines should be designed like aviation components, not hobby parts. That means conservative margins, repeatable quality and a deep understanding of how professional UAVs are used in the field.

Founder with German aviation experience

The founder of DE ENGINE studied aerospace and powertrain engineering in Germany and later worked for years in German general aviation and engine companies. This experience in certification-driven environments shaped the technical principles behind every DE ENGINE product.

  • Design for reliability first, performance second.
  • Respect margins for temperature, vibration and mechanical stress.
  • Think in flight hours and maintenance intervals, not just peak power.

After returning to China, he set up DE ENGINE to bring this engineering culture into the rapidly growing UAV industry, with a focus on industrial and governmental applications.

German design meets Chinese manufacturing

DE ENGINE combines German-style design and validation with modern Chinese manufacturing capability. Components are produced on CNC machining centers and inspected under strict quality control.

This combination allows DE ENGINE to deliver aviation-grade gasoline engines at competitive cost, making long-endurance UAV operations more accessible worldwide.

Focused on professional UAV applications

DE ENGINE does not develop engines for casual RC hobby use. Instead, the portfolio focuses on:

  • VTOL and fixed-wing mapping platforms
  • Logistics and delivery corridors
  • Border and coastal surveillance
  • Infrastructure inspection and environmental monitoring
  • Emergency response and disaster relief missions

A growing engine family

The current line-up includes 120 cc and 170 cc twins, a 350 cc single, and multi-cylinder engines in the 500 cc, 550 cc and 730 cc range. More models and EFI variants will be added as customer projects and mission requirements evolve.

If you are planning a new UAV platform or modernizing an existing fleet, DE ENGINE can support you from early engine sizing to detailed integration and testing.
